Who we are

Established in 2004, Turner PR is a niche agency of committed PR, communications and content specialists who work exclusively with clients in the charity and non-profit sector.

We’re a small team, but we know the sector inside and out. Together we have more than 40 years’ experience of raising the profile of fundraising and charity services, working with trade bodies and associations, suppliers, sector campaigns and community organisations.

Creating bespoke solutions for each and every client, we deliver a broad range of services from PR and communications consultancy, brand development and strategic partnerships, to content development, copywriting, newsletters, social media management, and design and production.

The team

Jenny Turner, Managing Director and Founder

Jenny founded Turner PR in 2004 and has grown the agency to deliver a broad range of PR, communications and content services with specific focus in the non-profit sector.

As an intuitive networker with an ability to identify potential strategic partnerships, Jenny often helps Turner PR’s clients to develop collaborative alliances and projects for mutual benefit.

She’s a great believer in helping clients in their profile raising through approaches that are right for them but which also support and give back to the wider sector.

She is a keen supporter of the fundraising community, playing an active role in a variety of panels and committees, including the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Partners Forum, the institute’s Insight in Fundraising Special Interest Group and Awards programme, and the judging panel for the Charity Times Awards.

Previously, Jenny helped develop several specialist trade and B2B communications agencies, working with clients in the branding and marketing services field, and before that with a technology focus.

In her spare time you’ll probably find Jenny and her green fingers in her garden (or someone else’s) and she has a love of the natural world and finding new places to explore. She’s also a keen Thames Mudlarker (with a permit!), exploring the river’s foreshore between the tides in the hunt for historic artefacts.

Melanie May, Publishing Lead & Content Editor

As a former Haymarket editor and features writer, Melanie is a talented and experienced journalist and copywriter. She has been an integral part of the Turner PR team since 2010, bringing invaluable insights from her former life as a journalist at several B2B titles.

In her own time, Melanie’s a keen walker and nature photographer. She also volunteers for the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, helping to monitor local herds of sheep and Dexter cattle.

Kirsty Warwick, PR Senior Account Manager

Kirsty has more than 25 years’ experience as a media relations and communications expert both in-house and as a consultant for charities such as Macmillan, RNID, NDCS, Carers UK, and the NHS. She specialises in media relations, brand marketing communications, copywriting and telling stories from people’s lived experiences.

When not working, Kirsty is a school governor and active local volunteer in PTAs, charities, church and community groups, and local events in London. She loves cycling, books, food and travel and is owned by cats.

Rob Dyson, Consultant

Rob has worked in PR and Communications in large, medium, and small national charities for 25 years. A founder member of CharityComms, and founder of the Facebook Third Sector PR & Comms Network (in 2007), Rob brings a wealth of senior, strategic PR and media relations experience rooted in the charity sector.

He has worked inside and alongside health, equality, and fintech NGOs; among them Scope, Whizz-Kidz, Pennies, Alzheimer’s Society, Justice4Windrush, and the Women’s Institute.

In his spare time, Rob is steeped in ‘cassette culture’ – supporting small and larger artists by buying their tapes for his trusty Walkman.

Gina Hollands, Consultant

Gina is a senior strategic PR with over 20 years’ experience in PR and marketing and offers a depth of understanding of business operations and commercial drive behind successful brands. Her specialisms include strategic communications for profile building, including messaging and tone of voice, and exceptional strengths in purposeful copywriting.

Charities Gina has worked with include Salvation Army, British Heart Foundation, Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, St Barnabas House and Chailey Heritage Foundation.

Outside of work, Gina enjoys dance, running, fiction writing (5 published novels and counting!), keyboard playing, theatre-going and cooking. She’s the first to admit that she has far too many hobbies for one person.

Amy McGeever, Account Manager & Digital Marketing Specialist

Amy has 25 years’ experience in the charity sector working as a digital marketing specialist and direct marketing fundraiser for charities such as NSPCC and London’s Air Ambulance, as well as for agencies and commercial suppliers to the sector.

She supports clients in making the most of their websites, social media and email comms by creating compelling digital strategies and branded graphic/video content to reach new audiences and cultivate existing ones.

Amy is a dual US/UK citizen and proficient in Spanish and Portuguese. When not working, Amy can be found as close to the beach as possible, enjoying time with her family.
