In a significant stride towards enhancing public engagement in health research, Our Future Health has collaborated with Gather Outreach, a division of Gather Campaigns, to bolster participation in their pioneering health programme. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to making health research more accessible and inclusive for all.
Our Future Health is on a mission to recruit up to five million volunteers across the UK, aiming to create one of the most comprehensive pictures of the nation’s health. By analysing this vast dataset, researchers hope to transform the prevention, detection, and treatment of common diseases, ultimately enabling people to live longer, healthier lives.
Bridging the gap between research and the public
Gather Outreach specialises in face-to-face interactions to drive meaningful conversations about health and research. Their approach ensures that complex health information is communicated effectively, fostering trust and understanding within communities.
A standout feature of this collaboration is the deployment of mobile clinics in supermarket car parks across the UK. These clinics, set up in partnership with major retailers such as ASDA, Morrison’s, and Tesco, have already welcomed over 100,000 participants. By situating clinics in easily accessible locations, the programme removes traditional barriers to participation, making it convenient for individuals to contribute to vital health research.
